Hello, my name's Daryl Naylor. 
I'm the Aboriginal Health Development Officer here at Austin Health.
I descend from Gundungurra which is an Aboriginal tribe in New South Wales.
I think in terms of missionaries and what I've read 
and obviously studied - they had a huge impact on the Aboriginal community,
but in particular our culture. It was really about  
a snobbery where they perceived their religion as being better 
than what we had and that obviously had a huge impact on 
many Aboriginal people in terms of losing their culture and also
our strong ways, our laws and also our connections to who we were.
I believe many Christian groups these days would probably
take more heed in recognising what happened and getting on 
with working in trying to help Aboriginal people find their culture again.
