Hi my name is Jenny Johncock, I'm from the Kokatha Wirangu people on the far west coast of South Australia. I work for education, I've worked for education for 29 years. My story is about still respecting the lore. Our grandmother and grandparents came from Ceduna in the 1940's to Port Lincoln and all our cousins belong to our traditional people that belong on the far west coast of South Australia. We still have to live, and we don't actually practice, but we actually respect the laws of our cousins. So when we go to visit we know when we're allowed to go to visit, what we're allowed to eat. Some of the ways that we respect the lore is by just knowing and understanding what we can do and when we can do it, what we can't do and why we can't do it. But knowing, It's just knowing within your being that you can't do this and you can't do that, and when you can eat this and when you can eat that.
